Lot Description

Undated (ca. 1795) North Wales Halfpenny. Musante GW-51, Baker-34, W-11150. Two Stars. Copper. Plain Edge. Good-6 (PCGS). Bold charcoal patina in the fields gives way to lighter golden-brown over the devices. Some of the peripheral lettering merges with the border, but all devices are at least partially discernible to allow full appreciation of the basic design. A bit rough in the fields, yet pleasingly smooth in hand for a well circulated example of this scarce and challenging type.
