1852-D Liberty Head Half Eagle. Winter 32-V. AU-53 (PCGS). Bold khaki-rose color blankets matte-like surfaces on both sides of this handsome piece. Well struck by the standards of this challenging issue, we note particular sharpness throughout much of Liberty's portrait and the eagle's plumage. A smooth-looking and inviting AU alternative to the Mint State 1852-D half eagle offered above, this coin offers excellent value for the astute Southern gold enthusiast.
