1794 Liberty Cap Cent. S-71. Rarity-2. Head of 1794. AU-58 (PCGS). CAC. A tough type and issue to find in high grades, as most early copper has considerable problems and far more circulation evidence than seen here. The color is a light tan to brown, with traces of flashy red in the protected areas. Reasonably sharp too, as Liberty's cascading curls are well separated. There is a patch of minor planchet roughness on Liberty's cap and below. A few tiny nicks are present, but overall this is a highly appealing example of this desirable date.
