Lot Description
A SUPERB GEM LM-6! WOW! This is a BLAZING and boldly lustrous little jewel! To see this beauty is to fall in love at first sight, we have not been able to put it down! This 190 year old coin is in an amazing state of preservation. Every detail is razor sharp in strike, clearly care and precision was taken with the manufacture of this example. Struck from clashed dies, there are some thin, minor cracks seen on the reverse. The first impression you get is of an untoned silver, but as you rotate the vividly lustrous surfaces in a light a blush of the faintest iridescent gold and russet toning comes out mostly on the reverse. There are virtually no marks of any kind, certainly nothing to speak of. The eye appeal is truly special! PCGS 45, NGC 33, CAC 18. There are just five in MS66+ at PCGS and 16 graded finer. The most recent example in MS66+ to sell realized $9,300 in January 2019, that seems like yesterday, but was nearly three years ago! The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $10,000. What a spectacular coin worthy of a strong bid. This GEM is bound for a fantastic type or date set of half dimes. Cert. Number 42657778 PCGS # 4278
