An exciting offering for specialists in the Low Ball category on the PCGS Set Registry, Saint-Gaudens double eagles of any issue are rarely found in grades such as this. The fact that this coin is an example of the key date 1908-S (just 22,000 coins struck) is of even greater significance. Likely a pocket piece, wear is commensurate with the assigned grade, but most major design elements are discernible, including the date and mintmark.
