1889 Liberty Seated Half Dollar. WB-101. VF-25 (PCGS). Circulation strike half dollar production remained consistent from 1888 to 1890 with only 12,000 (or 12,001) coins struck in the Philadelphia Mint during each of those three years. All three issues are equally elusive and seldom offered in circulated grades, attesting to the fact that few examples found their way into the avenues of commerce. A rare coin at the VF level of preservation, this gently circulated survivor is suitably bold for the grade with richly original toning to both sides.
