Lot Description

1783 Nova Constellatio Copper. Crosby 3-C, W-1875. CONSTELATIO, Blunt Rays. AU-55 (PCGS). 121.4 grains. The medium chocolate-brown surfaces exhibit bold design elements and no readily noticeable marks or blemishes to the unaided eye. The all-seeing eye on the reverse is about as sharp as ever seen and is diminished in sharpness by just a trace of wear on its highest points. The accompanying Craige envelope has just one comment written on it: "Choice," and decades later we agree wholeheartedly with his assessment. We note that Ted Craige paid $95 for this specimen. Choice for the grade.
