Lot Description

An attractively original specimen displaying a gentle mottling of pale reddish-gold and warmer cobalt blue iridescence that appears to drift toward the upper obverse and lower reverse borders. Razor sharp strike detail is commensurate with the method of manufacture, but seldom do survivors of this Proof type display surfaces that are smooth enough to secure a full Gem rating from PCGS or NGC. Reflectivity in the fields is strong on both sides, and it forms a nice backdrop to softly frosted motifs.
