Lot Description

1787 Machin's Mills Halfpenny. Vlack 18-87C, W-7930. Rarity-4. GEORGIVS III, Group III. EF-45 (PCGS). 111.6 grains. An attractive steel-brown example with solid definition throughout. The surfaces are smooth everywhere except for a small region of the right obverse border where some natural planchet roughness is seen. There are a few minor scratches, one on George's cheek and two at TA of BRITANNIA. Generally quite nice and would make an excellent representative for type or date. Provenance: From the Norman G.
