Lot Description

1724 Wood's Hibernia Farthing. Martin 3.9-D.1, W-12600. Rarity-4. AU-55 (PCGS). 57.8 grains. Somewhat glossy deep golden-brown surfaces exhibit some steel-brown highlights. Slightly off-center on the obverse with the rim not far from the tops of GEORGIUS; bold, full dentils are seen above GRATIA REX, and the reverse is perfectly centered. No marks of any measure can be detected with the unaided eye, and aside from some tiny, natural fissures, few marks appear under low magnification. Choice for the grade with a solid overall appearance.
