Lot Description

1906 Liberty Double Eagle. MS-64 (NGC). Velvet smooth luster on both the obverse and reverse of this pleasing coin, which also displays a firm strike and strong eye appeal. The surfaces are what really separate this example from the many, as precious few are known today with this incredible surface quality. Notice Liberty's cheek and neck, as well as the surrounding fields, just a few minor nicks are present, none of the usual deep cuts and bagmarks. Similar on the reverse where the quality of preservation is high, and this condition rarity should not be overlooked by any serious date or type collector seeking such an example.
