Lot Description
A charming piece, we note blushes of peripheral reddish-rose color to otherwise antique silver surfaces. The finish is bright, fully lustrous and softly frosted in texture. Incredibly well struck for this key date issue, and also exceptionally preserved to rank as one of the very finest known.<p>The 1927-D Standing Liberty quarter is a significant challenge to specialists of the series. With a mintage of just 976,000 pieces, it boasts the third lowest mintage of the entire series after the rare 1916 and the 1927-S. While it is scarce with full detail to Liberty's head, it is extremely rare when other elements like the rivets on the shield, the date, and the eagle are considered for sharpness; true connoisseurs will appreciate this attention to detail. PCGS lists only a single coin certified finer than the ex Duckor specimen offered here, emphasizing the low availability of this issue in the highest grades.
