Lot Description

With a generous mintage for the type of 442,000 circulation strikes and an above average rate of survival, the 1913 is one of the more readily obtainable Indian eagles in lower Mint State grades. Many such pieces entered numismatic channels through repatriations from foreign bank hoards beginning in the 1970s. As a premium quality near-Gem, however, the coin offered here is a noteworthy condition scarcity that would do justice to an above average type or date set. Very attractive.
