- 1842-O Liberty Seated Half Dollar. W-2. Rarity-5. Small Date, Small Letters (a.k.a. Reverse of 1839). VF-20 (PCGS). A modestly circulated, yet pleasingly smooth example of this elusive variety in the early Liberty Seated half dollar series. Warm olive-gray with more vivid undertones to the obverse that are evident as the coin dips into a light. The eye appeal is substantial at the middle reaches of the numismatic grading scale.
