- Lot Description
- 1907 Liberty Half Eagle. Proof-62 (NGC). These 1907 proofs were apparently the last Liberty or Coronet half eagles produced in this format, the 1908 coins—if struck—were not released to collectors pending the new style by Bella Lyon Pratt launched later in 1908. Minor hairlines and scattered nicks are present along with a dusting of natural haze commonly seen on these delicate coins. Bold throughout with strong visual appeal and struck in the expected semibrilliant finish seen starting in 1902 on these rare half eagle proofs. Mintage of 92 pieces only, and highly collectible in grades like this.
