1861 Liberty Quarter Eagle. Type II Reverse. MS-66 (NGC). Frosty deep honey gold with lively luster, a crisp strike, and no marks of consequence as befits the grade. Type II reverse with small, sharp arrow heads distant from RICA. Tied for finest certified by NGC. An ideal coin for a specialist or for inclusion in a type set. This year is one of relatively few early quarter eagles that can be obtained in Gem preservation or even premium Gem, as here. PCGS# 7794. NGC Census: 2; none finer.
