1807 Capped Bust Half Dollar. O-113. Rarity-2. Small Stars. AU-50 (PCGS). Smooth in hand with glints of original luster remaining, this handsome example is warmly patinated in even steel-gray patina. A bit lightly struck in the centers, although not unusually so for an early date Capped Bust half dollar. This is the first year of production for the design type, one that has proved popular with specialized collectors for decades.
