Lot Description

1850 Braided Hair Cent. N-24. Rarity-5. Noyes Die State D-A. MS-63 BN (NGC). This is a highly lustrous and visually appealing example of this rare Newcomb variety. Well struck, except for softness on the date and a few of the obverse stars. Rich mahogany-red toning adorns the satiny, carefully preserved surfaces. A rim ding is noted near 6 o'clock on the lower reverse, and a shallow horizontal pin scratch extends through Liberty's hair curls, just beneath the ear. PCGS# 406635.
