1889 Liberty Head Half Eagle. MS-63 (PCGS). Frosty to semi-reflective surfaces are smartly impressed with razor sharp striking detail throughout the design. Although there may be a temptation to regard the circulation strike 1889 half eagle as just a "type" coin at the MS-63 level, nothing could be further from the truth. Federal records confirm that only 7,520 examples were produced in this format, and survivors are rare in both worn condition and Mint State.
