Lot Description

70.1 grains. An attractive mid grade Small Planchet Pine Tree with desirable circulated cameo contrast between steel gray fields and lighter pewter gray motifs. The impression is off center to 10 o'clock on the obverse, the letters at upper left largely off the flan, reverse also somewhat off center to upper left with the border into the tops of the peripheral letters from 7 to 12 o'clock. The legend on the latter side is fully legible, that on the obverse discernible only in part from 12 to 9 o'clock. The tree, date and denomination are bold and encircled by full inner beaded borders. Old, dull marks at lower left central obverse and at 5 o'clock at peripheral obverse are the only mentionable blemishes on otherwise smooth surfaces. With some good gloss rounding out an impressive list of physical attributes, this is a really nice example of both the type and Noe number at the assigned grade level.
