1862 Indian Cent. MS-67 (PCGS). This gorgeous Superb Gem sports bright orange-apricot iridescence to billowy satin luster. A carefully produced, expertly preserved coin that will please even the most discerning Indian cent enthusiast. With 28,075,000 circulation strikes produced, the 1862 has the second highest mintage in this brief copper-nickel cent series. Examples of the 1862 are readily available in most Mint State grades up through MS-65, but they become exponentially more elusive approaching Superb Gem condition. In solidly graded MS-67 condition, the present piece is a noteworthy condition rarity.
