This steel and pewter gray example is struck on an avoid planchet that is slightly wider along its vertical axis than its horizontal. Obverse impression aligned to 10 o'clock with the peripheral letters at upper left running off the flan. The balance of this side is boldly defined apart from at and around the lower right portion of the tree, where a gentle bend in the planchet (as made) has resulted in uneven wear. Reverse centering is a bit better, border only lightly into the tops of the letters NGL at upper right, thin lip of unstruck planchet beyond the outer beading at lower left. Overall detail is bold on this side, affected just a bit by the vertical die break to the right of the date and denomination. Flan lightly flawed at 4 o'clock on the obverse, there are no marks of note, nice gloss combines with the aforementioned toning to provide a very pleasing appearance overall.
