1791 Washington Large Eagle Cent. Baker-15, W-10610. Rarity-2. Lettered Edge. MS-65 BN (PCGS). 189.82 grains. Deep golden-brown with lively luster that supports flashes of bright mint orange in the protected areas. The strike is sharp with every tiny detail on both sides -- right down to the rings on the eagle's talons -- plain as day. No marks of significance are present, as should be surmised from the assigned grade. Ted Craige paid $185 for this beauty at an unknown but doubtless long-ago time. Choice for the assigned grade.
