THE BOYLSTON COLLECTION, PART IV Coined for just two years in 1873 and 1874, the Arrows were placed on each side of the date to indicate a miniscule change in the weight of the planchet, in accordance with the Mint Act of February 12, 1873. A popular type coin, this CHOICE example that has a bold mirrored brilliance in the fields. The devices are crisply rendered and frosted, creating a nice Cameo contrast. Only 550 Proofs were struck. PCGS 17, NGC 7. The most recent example to sell in auction realized $2,570 in July 2021 and the current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $3,100.
