- 129.1 grains. It is difficult for us to imagine a nicer example of this Medium Bust Nova Eborac variety than this, at least without bringing some Mint State coins into the discussion. Lovely autumn-brown surfaces show olive-gray highlights around and within many of the design elements. The originality is undeniable, the surfaces hard and frosty with plenty of good gloss. Upper right obverse border engages the letter E in EBORAC, reverse a bit soft along the upper border, but the overall strike is bold, and the central design elements are impressively sharp. Accuracy alone compels us to mention a pair of faint pin scratches at and below the effigy's chin, which are easily overlooked in hand, and just as easily forgiven in light of this coin's overall superior quality. Worthy of strong bids.
