Late Die State. The transitional 1866-S Liberty Seated half dollar was produced in both No Motto and Motto types, the former far scarcer with a much lower mintage of 60,000 vs. 994,000 coins. Offered here is a handsome mid grade example of this key date issue, both sides warmly and originally toned with plenty of bold strike detail remaining.
