Lot Description: Bordering on a Deep Cameo type of contrast, this is an UBER high end, high grade SUPERB GEM Proof example from the first year of the Barber series. Incredibly deep, clean, beaming mirrored fields glitter, shimmer, and boom brilliantly in the light, flashing with a chrome-like reflection. Every device is razor sharp in strike with thick, creamy-white frost. A blush of the most subtle tone is seen at the neck. Even under very strong magnification you will not find any marks or breaks in the mirrors or in the frost. The eye appeal is great. Only 1,245 Proofs were struck. PCGS 14, NGC 16. The last one to sell brought $2,760 in the 2020 FUN auction. The market today is stronger, and the current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $5,500.
