- Lot Description
- A very cool looking, very late die state of the obverse that shows multiple die cracks, die clashes, and other artifacts of the somewhat crude nature of the first U.S. mint. Satin mint frost creates a back light to the lilac-gold tone. Due to the nature of the die state, areas of the coin are boldly defined, while others are lacking detail. PCGS 33, NGC 31. MS62 PCGS examples have been selling in the $3,500-$5,000 range at auction in the past few years, and PCGS has assigned a value of $4,500 for MS62 graded examples. No MS63 PCGS example has been sold in auction for over 10 years! This is a great collector coin, which until recently was a part of one of the greatest collections of Bust half dollars ever assembled! PCGS # 39471. Certification Number 28725847 PCGS # 006103
