Lot 445 1856 N-1 R1 Italic 5 PCGS graded MS64 Brown.Lustrous olive brown and steel with lighter golden tan and olive toning on the reverse. Underlying faded mint red shows in protected areas on both sides. Satiny mint frost covers this cent and the eye appeal is nice in spite of the unbalanced toning. The only marks are two small nicks on the end of the chin., and it takes a glass to see them. MDS, die state b. The die lines at UN are gone and the fields are flowlined, but there are no rim cuds on the reverse. Our grade is MS60.The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label.
