- 117.6 grains. Attractive light brown with some darker toning around the devices. A sharp, well struck specimen, centered well enough to show full legends on both sides. The obverse is aligned rightward, allowing some of the beaded border to be visible at left. The surfaces are unflawed and essentially smooth, though some old verdigris is present within the intricacies of the reverse design. A little rim nick is seen right of the date, some trivial old pinscratches fade into the central obverse, and a mark is noted beneath the stop adjacent to V of VERMONTS. The die state is early, with a crack through 8 of the date but no loss of design in the plow above. This is an exceptionally sharp example of this 1785-dated Landscape variety, one that is rarely found better.
