Lot Description
Silver Restrike, Engrailed Edge. W-10380, Baker-3A, Musante GW-1067. Considered to be Rarity-5, this is one of the FINEST KNOWN examples of this popular Washington piece. Struck circa 1860, this is a fantastic looking GEM! Watery reflective silver surfaces gleam boldly under a wonderful mixture of violet, orange, blue, teal, and magenta toning. Razor sharp in strike from rusted dies. The eye appeal of this GEM is simply amazing, a coin that clearly sat for ages in an old paper envelope where it was allowed to take on this sumptuous color. WOW! PCGS 1, NGC 0. The current PCGS Price Guide value is $9,500. A PCGS PR65 sold for $10,575 in June 2017, and there is a single PR67 finer, a coin that has been off the market for nearly a decade (a coin that is dipped out white and cannot come anywhere near the wonderful originality of this GEM). Worthy of an AMAZING collection of Washington pieces. Good luck! Cert. Number 42649258 PCGS # 688
