Lot Description

1840-O Liberty Seated Half Dime. No Drapery. V-4. Repunched Date, Small O. MS-62 (PCGS). Lustrous satin surfaces with peripheral toning in steel-blue and reddish-apricot. The 1840-O is one of only two No Drapery, Stars Obverse half dimes from this Southern coinage facility, and it is rare in all Mint State grades. A find for the advanced collector specializing in New Orleans Mint or Liberty Seated coinage. Provenance: From our (Stack's) 85th Annual ANA Convention Auction Sale, August 1976, lot 598.
