Lot Description

1857-O Seated Liberty Dime. Medium O. MS-65+ (NGC). This is the scarcer mintmark style of the 1857-O, an issue that is rather plentiful in worn condition by New Orleans Mint Seated dime standards but one that remains scarce to rare in Mint State. As a premium quality Gem, the coin we offer here is decidedly in the latter category. Satiny and vibrant, both sides are further enhanced by handsome pearl-gray and champagne-apricot peripheral toning. Sharply struck, and expectably smooth for the assigned grade.
