1879 Liberty Seated Quarter. Proof-66 (NGC). CAC. This undeniably original specimen combines an obverse dressed in light pearl-gray iridescence with a richly toned reverse in blended antique copper, steel-blue and pinkish-rose patina. Eagerly sought in both formats, the 1879 Liberty Seated quarter has a generous Proof mintage of 1,100 pieces, but a paltry circulation strike delivery of just 13,600 coins. This is a conditionally scarce upper end Gem from the former issue that is sure to please even the most discerning numismatist. NGC Census: 23; 11 finer in this category (Proof-67 * finest).
