1847 Braided Hair Cent. N-6. Rarity-1. Noyes Die State B/E. MS-63 RB (NGC). Close examination of the reverse die shows evidence of lapping, following its earlier use for 1847 N-41. This incredible 1847 cent has at least 60 percent of its original mint red color on the obverse and at least 80 percent on the reverse. A few darker toning spots (not carbon spots) on the obverse identify this piece. Low areas in the planchet remain from the minting process. An important opportunity for the early copper specialist.
