- 1800 Draped Bust Half Dime. LM-1. Rarity-3. VF-20 (PCGS). This warm golden-gray specimen exhibits lively orange and crimson toning at the peripheries. Low magnification reveals some scattered marks, the most noticeable of these a tiny dig on Liberty's neck. The 8 in the date consists of two tiny "o" punches connected one on top of the other to form the numeral, a diagnostic for LM-1. An altogether pleasing example for the grade, and a piece that would represent the type or date admirably in an early half dime collection or U.S. type set.
