Lot Description

Bolender-19, BB-190. The dies are impressively clashed, creating multiple sets of wavy lines through the digits of the date, as well as chips in the edge of the obverse die near the first few stars. This is all, of course, in addition to the famous reverse die-break that adds a misshapen "I" after AMERICA. Generally pleasing in appearance, the surface has not been excessively stripped of original patina, although central areas are a little bright for the grade. A singular tiny nick in the field above and behind Liberty's head seems hardly worth mentioning.
