Lot Description

Really cool looking, deep, rich, mottled iridescent toning graces both sides of this near-GEM Civil War Proof half dollar. Bold underlying watery reflective mirrored fields flash when rotated in a light. Variegated blues, greens, golds, and violets pop as the light hits the surfaces at different angles. Totally original, this near-GEM example is "dark" but does not obliterate the mirrors' reflection. Only 470 Proofs were struck. PCGS 62, NGC 48.
