1787 New Jersey Copper. Maris 56-n, W-5310. Rarity-1. Camel Head--Overstruck on a 1787 Connecticut Copper, Miller 43.2-X.4--Fine-12 (PCGS). 145.2 grains. A great example of an overstruck Camel Head New Jersey with substantial Connecticut copper undertype visible at the upper obverse and lower reverse including a full bold 1787 date, ET LIB, and CONNEC making attribution of the undertype relatively easy. Good quality chocolate-brown surfaces with just a few spots of darker roughness. Provenance: From the Sydney F. Martin Collection.
