Lot Description

1888-O Liberty Head Eagle. Winter-1. AU-58 (PCGS). An intriguing Mint error, although not designated as such by PCGS. Not only is the reverse rotated more than 45 degrees clockwise from normal coin alignment, but the strike is noticeably soft with little to no detail at and near the right borders on both sides. We believe that one of the dies was clogged with foreign matter when this coin was struck. Vivid honey-orange color with considerable prooflike reflectivity in the fields.
