Lot Description

Lively silver high points surrender quickly to a pleasing steel-gray background which in turn offers warm gold and electric blue highlights under a bright light. Nicely struck, the high points impeded by just a trace of even wear. The obverse die has a pie-shaped die crack formed by a crack in the dentils at 4 o’clock and another at 7 o’clock that converge diagonally upward where they join at a point near Liberty’s knee; the reverse die is rotated some 20°+ past the usual 180° die alignment.
