Lot Description

This is a very interesting and seemingly RARE 1845 quarter. The reverse was broken in quite dramatic fashion, with a bisecting die crack from the first S in STATES through the eagle to the period between QUAR and DOL. Another die crack, which perhaps would turn into a cud in future strikings from this die, is seen through AME. This is a very pleasing and seemingly original toned and lightly circulated collector grade early Seated quarter with a bold eye appeal. PCGS 26, NGC 9. Worthy of a very strong bid, do not let the APRs or published levels fool you, this is a highly desirable example. Cert. Number 42804535 PCGS # 5408
