From the Sig and Louise Collection BD-8, which is technically the NORMAL 8 variety, not Large 8 as noted on the holder. Perhaps 40-50 examples survive of this R-5 variety. We think that the detail that remains is much stronger than GOOD, more in line perhaps with a FINE grade. For a coin of such low certified grade, this coin really has an amazing look! A coin of such low grade really makes you remember that these coins really did circulate, and were not just stores of specie held by banks to cover paper money. A very historical relic that is bound to attract serious bidding! PCGS 1, NGC 0, CAC 1. This coin is totally fresh to the market and is making its first auction appearance ever! The only "comp" we can find in our database was a much more more common date, 1802/1 in PCGS VG10 CAC that sold for $4,080 in February 2018.
