Imagine a proof shield nickel with about as much immaculate flash and brilliance as is possible for the type and you have just envisioned this astounding jewel. The obverse appears to be blatantly cameo while the reverse comes very close, and it's a bit of a question as to how this nickel evaded some kind of designation. The surface remains virtually untoned and devoid of even the slightest imperfections, except for an occasional field graze on the reverse.
