1876-S Liberty Quarter Eagle. MS-61 (NGC). A very scarce issue in circulated grades that becomes quite rare in Mint State, the 1876-S has a limited mintage of just 5,000 pieces. This total is the second lowest among Liberty Quarter Eagles struck in the San Francisco Mint. Lightly frosted with good luster quality at the BU grade level, this rose-gold survivor also offers freedom from individually distracting abrasions. A short die scratch on Liberty's jaw is as made and diagnostic of the issue. Boldly struck.
