- 120.7 grains. This is a universally sharp piece, a fact that the lack of border denticulation on both sides does not diminish. All peripheral letters are free of the borders, and the centers are crisp with a full U.S and much more detail in the all-seeing eye than usually seen. Steely-copper and medium brown patina overall, a blush of reddish-rose engages the letters IO in CONSTELLATIO on the obverse. The surfaces are frosty, hard, and free of detracting marks, a few small planchet voids along the obverse border from 9 to 11 o'clock are the only blemishes of note, and they are as made. Certainly a desirable representative of the Crosby 2-B Nova Constellatio, the only one of the 1783-dated issue that combines a Pointed Rays obverse with a Small U.S reverse.
