1874 Liberty Head Half Eagle. AU-50 (PCGS). Few 1874 half eagle survivors still remain from the original 3,488-piece mintage, and only 71 examples in all grades have been seen by PCGS. The AU50 specimen presented here retains traces of luster in the design recesses and exhibits well defined motifs. As is typical for this issue, a smattering of small marks is noted on each side.
