1816 Matron Head Cent. N-2. Rarity-1. MS-64 RB (NGC). CAC. OH. This is a lovely Choice Uncirculated example of the first issue in the Matron Head cent series. Lightly toned in glossy brown, both sides also retain ample rose-orange luster as noted by the Red and Brown color designation from NGC. The features are boldly defined and the strike is generally well centered on both sides. Noyes Die State C/C. Provenance: From the A.J. Vanderbilt Collection. Acquired from Stack's, November 2010.
