- 1892-S Barber Half Dollar. MS-64 (PCGS). CAC.
This is the first San Francisco Mint Barber half dollar. It boasted a rather large mintage of 1,029,028 pieces, however, it is now considered a key date in all grades. The present appealing near-Gem exhibits virtually untoned silver-white surfaces. The finish is generally satiny, but with decided reflective tendencies in the fields. Sharply struck in most areas, this lovely coin would serve with distinction in an advanced collection of Barber coinage.
Provenance: From the Abigail Collection, Part III.
