Lot Description

1652 Massachusetts Bay Colony Pine Tree Threepence. Noe-36, W-640. Rarity-4. Without Pellets. VF-30 (NGC). CAC. 17.1 grains. On the obverse the tree is clear and a bit of the legends, but much of the legends were softly struck on that side, while the reverse shows a clear date, denomination and most of the legends. Clean surfaces and decent centering for the collector. Steel-gray with a few iridescent accents. Scarce in all grades as this denomination is hard to locate with such smooth surfaces and trouble free circulation.
